Seafarers Victorious at Mobile, 5-1
|
The Lisbon Seafarers rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Zee-loo Fan to a win, beating the Mobile Monsters, 5-1, at Mobile Park. Fan, now 8-5, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. By defeating Mobile, the first-place Seafarers improved to 43-33.
It could have been a different outcome for Lisbon, had it not been for Willie Gonzalez, the 25-year old shortstop . Gonzalez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Lisbon up, 2-0.
"That was a really good outing by Zee-loo," said Lisbon manager Dan Danielson.
