The Mobile Monsters rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Omar Cespedes to a win, beating the Providence Anglers, 6-1, at Mobile Park. Cespedes got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 10 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. With the loss, Providence falls to 5-5.

Paul Tatsch had a big 2-run double for the Monsters in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Mobile leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Aaron Maier and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Monsters ahead, 4-1.

"I like how we're playing right now," said Cespedes.
