Shadows Upend Supernovas, 2-1
|
Umbriel turned a good performance from starting pitcher Jose Garcia into a 2-1 triumph over the Sedna Supernovas at Supernova Stands. Umbriel reliever Shawn Bearfield snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jose Rendon shouldered the loss. Umbriel goes to 5-4.
Umbriel used the timely hitting of Griff Carney to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shadows on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Jose is a tough competitor," said Umbriel manager Vertil Doctor.
