Aurora Top Stars, 5-2, to Begin WC
The Iceland Aurora powered past the hometown Los Angeles Stars, 5-2, in the opener of the Wildcard Playoff at Stars Stadium. Iceland starting pitcher Hirose Inouye threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs, to lead the charge. The Aurora now lead the series 1-0.

In the top of the fifth, Josh McCrery delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Iceland left fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Aurora in front, 5-2.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Aurora manager Dan Danielson said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stars Stadium in Los Angeles.
