Aurich Blanks Norderney Behind Marcoux Friday, June 13th , 1958 The Norderney Hitmen manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Aurich Steelmen. The Hitmen were overpowered by Aurich starter Chad Marcoux, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said. Over 9 innings, Marcoux blanked Norderney on 2 hits with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Marcoux said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." So far this season, Marcoux has compiled a 4-2 record with a 4.14 ERA. |
