Brent Waymouth Picked NSBL's Best Player Thursday, June 23rd , 1955
The manager of the Leeuwarden Bombers said he thinks Brent Waymouth is only going to get better as he gets older.
He may only be 21, but it will be hard to top the third baseman's 1955 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the North Sea Baseball League Most Valuable Player Award.
His winning campaign featured a .346 batting average and a .460 on-base percentage this year. In 40 games he piled up 56 hits, 2 doubles, no triples, 12 home runs, 30 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
Bustos Scoops up NSBL Top Hurler Award Thursday, June 23rd , 1955 Jon Bustos of the Norderney Hitmen was in command and couldn't do much wrong when he was on the mound this season. His outstanding 8-1 won-lost mark and 2.22 ERA were big factors in his winning the 1955 North Sea Baseball League Best Pitcher.
In 69 innings of work and 9 starts, Bustos struck out 25 while giving up 62 hits and 31 walks. He held opposing batters to a .238 average.
He received 3 first place votes out of a possible 8. Edwin Montes of the Emden Engineers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Lionel Serato of the Harlingen Heroes finished third with 2 first place votes.
