Hilts Stops Texel
Sunday, June 15th , 1958
D.J. Hilts was in a mood to talk following the Harlingen Heroes contest against the Texel Giants, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Giants, 6-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Hilts said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The left-hander blanked Texel on a 4-hitter, allowing 4 walks and racking up 3 strikeouts.
This year, Hilts has compiled a 4-1 record with a 4.23 ERA in 7 starts.
