Tschopp Holds Norderney Scoreless Monday, May 9th , 1955 The Norderney Hitmen were almost helpless in their 12-0 loss to the Aurich Steelmen and hurler Vid Tschopp. Tschopp kept the Hitmen confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Tschopp," Norderney manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 19-year-old right-hander had 3 walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Tschopp said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." |
