Webb 5-for-5 for Wolves Thursday, May 28th , 1953 At Team Stadium, Ben Webb of the Norden Wolves put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled the Aurich Steelmen pitching staff, but Norden still came up short on the scoreboard. The Wolves went home with the 12-8 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their catcher. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Webb said in the postgame interview. Ben Webb singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Hitting .305 to date, Webb has 1 home run and 10 RBIs.
