Poole Shuts Out Harlingen, 2-0 Thursday, June 12th , 1952 Mike Poole kept the Harlingen Heroes hitters from doing much damage at Team Park. Harlingen could only muster 3 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Poole, who controlled them throughout the game. Texel won the contest, 2-0. Poole added 1 strikeout in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Poole told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." Poole's record so far this season is 1-and-2 with no saves and a 5.50 ERA. He has given up 35 hits in 36 innings with 7 strikeouts. |
