Ahernfeld Extends Hit Streak to 1 Games Sunday, June 15th , 1952 The Harlingen Heroes stopped the Den Helder Farmers, 9-2, and Benjamin Ahernfeld collected a base hit yet again. The Harlingen center fielder finished with 2 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 1. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Ahernfeld told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Benjamin Ahernfeld grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
