Alejandrez Sets Season Mark with Hit #59

An amazing season for Carlos Alejandrez reached its climax today, as the Colón University Nuggets's third baseman set the league record for most hits in a single season with 59, passing the great Eric Devlin. Fans at Team Stadium gave him a 5-minute standing ovation after the historic hit.
Carlos Alejandrez flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and doubled in the 7th.
On the year, Alejandrez has hit .373 with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 39 runs.
