When it came to hitting the baseball, Eddie Griess had few peers in the North Sea Baseball League this year. The gifted first baseman for Leeuwarden tagged opposing pitchers for a .305 average and was voted the Most Valuable Player Award for 1952. Included in his season stats were 50 hits, 4 doubles, no triples, 16 home runs, 33 runs scored and 40 RBIs.
