Johnson Toys with Mobile in 10-0 Win
Tuesday, May 20th , 1952
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Mobile Monsters as starter Eddie Johnson shut them out, 10-0, at Skyliners Stadium. The New York pitcher struck out 4 and walked 1 while allowing 4 hits.
"Johnson was good but he wasn't flawless," Mobile manager Dan Danielson said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from New York, but this is on us."
Johnson has posted a 4-1 record for the year with a 2.31 ERA. Teams are hitting .229 against him and he has rung up 26 strikeouts in 39 innings.
