Great Day for Gray -- 5 Hits Monday, July 14th , 1958 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ryan Gray -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Pride Ballpark and paced the 7-5 Red Wings win over the New York B Pride. After his dynamite batting performance, the Mobile B third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Ryan Gray singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Shanahan Gales in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. Gray is currently hitting at a .308 pace with 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and has scored 41 times. |
