Hit Streak for Nissen Reaches 20 Sunday, June 12th , 1955 Chalk up another one for Mobile B Red Wings second baseman Dan Nissen. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Nissen went 3-for-5 in today's game at Wallabys Park but saw his club defeated, 9-8, by the host Sicily B Wallabys. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Red Wings manager said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Dan Nissen grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Blake Hachmeister in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Nissen has compiled a .426 batting average and a .476 on-base percentage, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 15 runs. |
