Lisbon Snaps Nissen Streak at 21 Wednesday, June 15th , 1955 The Lisbon Maples pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Dan Nissen hitless in 3 at-bats during the club's 4-2 victory over the Mobile B Red Wings at Houston AA Stadium. The disappointing performance ended a 21-game hitting streak for the second baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Nissen said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." In the current season, Nissen has put up a .410 batting average with 41 hits, 4 home runs, 16 runs batted in and scored 20 runs. |
