Volcanoes Win, 4-0, as Alexander Mystifies Mobile B Thursday, July 14th , 1955 The Mobile B Red Wings met their match today in Iceland B hurler Chris Alexander. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 3-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Mobile B skipper said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 4-0 victory, Alexander whiffed 6 and gave up 4 walks. This year, Alexander has a 8-5 mark in 16 starts with a 3.62 ERA. He has given up 125 hits in 121.2 innings, struck out 85 and issued 38 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .267 batting average against him. |
