Paris B Defeats Providence B Monday, August 10th , 1953 The Paris B Wreckers ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Providence B Sabres 6-2 to win the Round 1. Paris B won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 1st time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Paris B manager . "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 59-22 and claimed first place in the TOBA Class B. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and starting pitcher Romel Quico said the Wreckers have "great fans and they deserve this." "I am so happy for our city right now," he said. |
