Gary Morrisey, the talented Lisbon left fielder, certainly made his name known among TOBA Class B hurlers this season. He hammered them for 88 hits, 19 doubles, 1 triple, 12 home runs, 46 RBIs and scored 49 times. That kind of output made him the choice for TOBA Class B Most Valuable Player Award for 1955.
He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Harald Klein of the Mobile B Red Wings finished second in voting, while Timo Blume of the Lisbon Maples finished third.
