Shockers Pitching Ravaged by Masterson
Saturday, May 2nd , 1959
Mike Masterson had an answer for everything the Paris C Shockers threw at him at Celtics Ballpark. The Los Angeles C left fielder went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Celtics a win, 20-3.
Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Masterson said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
Mike Masterson doubled in the 2nd, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
