Iceland C Snaps Hiss Streak at 22 Monday, June 23rd , 1958 Providence C catcher Bonaventure Hiss experienced something against the Iceland C Cyclones he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Cyclones pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 22 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Jackrabbits to a 3-2 victory at Brooklyn A Stadium. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 22-game hitting streak," Hiss joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." Currently Hiss is hitting .451 and has collected no home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 17 times, while playing in 23 games. |
