Nistler Batters Mobile C Big Time Sunday, June 7th , 1953 Brian Nistler had an answer for everything the Mobile C Spartans threw at him at Spartans Grove. The Providence C second baseman went 5-for-7 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Jackrabbits a win, 16-12. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Nistler said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Brian Nistler doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Fremont Ruff in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In 1953 Nistler has hit at a .360 clip with 40 hits, 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and has scored 24 times. |
