Iceland C Shut Out, 1-0, By Jackrabbits, Seymour Monday, June 27th , 1955 The Iceland C Cyclones were almost helpless in their 1-0 loss to the Providence C Jackrabbits and hurler Steve Seymour. Seymour kept the Cyclones confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Seymour," Iceland C manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 23-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Seymour said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." This season, Seymour has gone 3-2 with an ERA of 3.60, posting 32 strikeouts in 40 innings. |
