Goff Keeps Hit Streak Alive Thursday, June 27th , 1957 Lisbon C lost to the Iceland C Cyclones, 12-7, at Whitehawks Grounds, but Uinsin Goff kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 1 hit. The Whitehawks left fielder has now delivered hits in 20 straight games. "Uinsin has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Lisbon C manager told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Uinsin Goff singled in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Currently Goff is batting .370 with 10 home runs, 40 RBIs and 43 runs scored. |
