Mays Bashes 5 Base Hits Tuesday, July 28th , 1953 Justin Mays really sizzled at the plate in his team's 19-10 win over the Los Angeles C Celtics. The Providence C right fielder blistered Los Angeles C for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Mays was too tough to get out today," the Celtics skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Justin Mays hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a sac fly in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
