Noguchi Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, May 10th , 1952 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-8 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Tomokazu Noguchi, it came around today. The 21-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Celtics Ballpark to pace the 12-10 New York C Inferno victory over the Los Angeles C Celtics. Los Angeles C skipper told reporters in the press room that "Noguchi deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Noguchi hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Tomokazu Noguchi flied out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, flied out in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 10th, struck out in the 12th and hit a two-run double in the 14th. Noguchi is currently hitting at a .429 pace with no home runs and 6 RBIs. |
