Bucks Show No Mercy in 16-0 Thrashing of Rottweilers Friday, August 1st , 1958 Cal Leveque kept the Newfoundland R Rottweilers hitters from doing much damage at Rottweilers Park. Newfoundland R could only muster 8 hits and draw 3 walks against the right-handed Leveque, who controlled them throughout the game. New York R won the contest, 16-0. Leveque added 2 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Leveque told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." This year, Leveque has gone 2-4 with an ERA of 5.98 and has 10 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. |
