Bucharest Shuts Out Volgograd Behind Zielinski, 5-0
Thursday, May 14th , 1953
Kazio Zielinski was in a mood to talk following the Bucharest Bucks contest against the Volgograd Owls, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Owls, 5-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Zielinski said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Volgograd on a 4-hitter, allowing 4 walks and racking up 5 strikeouts.
