Heldt Voted June's #1 Newcomer

In his first year in the league, Eric Heldt is beginning to pay huge dividends on his club's financial investment. He captured the Eastern Bloc Baseball Rookie of the Month Award for a spectacular month on the mound.
During June this Kharkiv rookie started 7 games, logged 41.1 innings and chalked up 5 wins and 2 losses. He struck out 21, walked 14 and rang up an eye-catching 3.48 ERA. Opposing batters hit only .290 against him.
This season, Heldt has compiled a 7-4 mark with a 3.17 ERA in 14 starts.

Bilek Gets June's Top Pitcher Trophy

Zigmund Bilek of Kyiv had a tremendous June with a 4-3 mark and was chosen the Pitcher of the Month in the Eastern Bloc Baseball.
Bilek restricted opposing hitters to 50 base hits and a .212 batting average. He rang up 52 strikeouts in 64.1 innings of work, surrendered 17 walks, and crafted a 1.54 ERA.
So far this year, Bilek has made 8 starts, tossed 64.1 innings, struck out 52 batters and walked 17. His record is 4-3 with a 1.54 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .212 batting average.
