Badea Wins EBB Batter of the Month Monday, July 1st , 1957 There's nothing like putting up good, solid numbers in the last year of your contract. Today Marius Badea helped his contract negotiations by nabbing June's Eastern Bloc Baseball Batter of the Month honors. The Bucharest first baseman put together a .320 batting average with 13 home runs, 32 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Someone will surely be opening up the vault this offseason if Badea continues at this brisk pace. To date Badea has chalked up a .244 average with 19 home runs, driven in 49 runs and scored 32 times. |
