Badea Sets Record with Another Home Run Saturday, July 18th , 1953 Marius Badea has had a spectacular year this season. Today at Ragin Cajuns Park the Warsaw great cracked his 18th roundtripper of the season and broke the league record held by the legendary Vassily Elihov. The fans went wild and gave him repeated curtain calls for his historic blast. Speaking with reporters at the postgame press conference Badea told them how he was going to celebrate his new record. "I'll celebrate a little with my family tonight, but not too much. Gotta to go back to work tomorrow, you know." Marius Badea flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th and homered off Daniil Rezunenko in the 6th. So far this year, Badea is batting .287 with 18 home runs and 42 RBIs. |
