Sevcik Earns July's Top Batter Prize in EBB Monday, August 1st , 1955 Gorky Gales fans believe they've got a talented young star in Alexej Sevcik. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in July, as he hit .278 with 11 home runs, 34 RBIs and 22 runs scored. The end result was the right fielder being named the Eastern Bloc Baseball Batter of the Month. This year, Sevcik is hitting .269, produced 88 RBIs and 29 home runs, scored 57 times and gotten on base at a .334 rate. |
