Bucharest Starter July's Best Pitcher Monday, August 1st , 1955 Igor Groshikov of the Bucharest Bucks outdistanced his peers on the mound this month. He fashioned a fine 6-1 won-lost mark and 2.62 ERA in 7 starts to get the Eastern Bloc Baseball Pitcher of the Month honors. Groshikov had a very impressive July, finishing with 32 strikeouts in 55 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .251 average. Thus far this season, Groshikov has worked 155.1 innings with 84 strikeouts en route to a 10-6 record and a 2.95 ERA. |
