Wouters Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, June 6th , 1953 With 2 hits at Team Stadium, Franklin Wouters added another game to his hitting streak -- the Norden shortstop has now hit safely for 2 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Wolves, as they fell, 12-5, to the Emden Engineers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Emden manager said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Franklin Wouters singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. So far this season, Wouters has recorded a .375 batting average with 39 hits, 2 home runs, 21 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a .500 OBP. |
