Aurich Blanks Emden Behind Tschopp Saturday, June 11th , 1955 Vid Tschopp was in a mood to talk following the Aurich Steelmen contest against the Emden Engineers, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Engineers, 8-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Tschopp said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Emden on a 1-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 2 strikeouts. His record for the year is 5-1 in 8 starts and Tschopp has a 2.73 ERA. |
