Bustos Scoops up NSBL Top Hurler Award Thursday, June 23rd , 1955 Jon Bustos of the Norderney Hitmen was in command and couldn't do much wrong when he was on the mound this season. His outstanding 8-1 won-lost mark and 2.22 ERA were big factors in his winning the 1955 North Sea Baseball League Best Pitcher. In 69 innings of work and 9 starts, Bustos struck out 25 while giving up 62 hits and 31 walks. He held opposing batters to a .238 average. He received 3 first place votes out of a possible 8. Edwin Montes of the Emden Engineers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Lionel Serato of the Harlingen Heroes finished third with 2 first place votes.
