NSBL Announces Best Player Award Thursday, June 25th , 1953 When it came to hitting the baseball, Otte van Baardewijk had few peers in the North Sea Baseball League this year. The gifted first baseman for Emden tagged opposing pitchers for a .364 average and was voted the Most Valuable Player Award for 1953.
