Saylor Tosses 7-0 Shutout Against Iceland A Thursday, July 17th , 1958 Gil Saylor was in a mood to talk following the Paris A Orioles contest against the Iceland A Valiants, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Valiants, 7-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Saylor said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Iceland A on a 2-hitter, allowing 3 walks and racking up 11 strikeouts. This year, Saylor has compiled a 9-7 record with a 4.09 ERA in 17 starts. |
