Marciano Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Sunday, June 7th , 1953 Donato Marciano's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Sicily A second baseman smacked 3 hits against the Paris A Orioles in today's game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Longhorns drop the game, 7-6. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Donato Marciano singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season, Marciano is hitting .385 with 6 home runs, 13 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 104 at-bats and a .430 OBP. |
