Hit Parade: Frasheri Pops 5 Hits Wednesday, June 22nd , 1955 New York A right fielder Daut Frasheri went down swinging at Warlords Park, knocking out 5 hits even as his Big Stick fell, 12-7. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Frasheri said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Los Angeles A Warlords. "No offense meant to Los Angeles A, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Frasheri spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Frasheri agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Daut Frasheri singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Gerald Curtis in the 9th. |
