Big Stick Not Competitive in 11-0 Loss to Providence A Saturday, July 16th , 1955 Providence A's Steve Ausmus brought his best stuff to Brooklyn AAA Stadium, shutting down and shutting out the New York A Big Stick, 11-0. He racked up 7 strikeouts, surrendered 2 hits, and issued 1 walk on his way to the victory. "We barely made him work at all," New York A manager said later. "Providence A could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted." Currently Ausmus has a 4-4 won-lost record in 11 starts with a 4.85 ERA. He also has 54 strikeouts in 81.2 innings. |
