Iceland A Blanks Mobile A, Hulbert Winner Wednesday, July 20th , 1955 Dan Hulbert was in a mood to talk following the Iceland A Valiants contest against the Mobile A Rivermen, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Rivermen, 5-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Hulbert said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Mobile A on a 5-hitter, allowing 6 walks and racking up 2 strikeouts. This season, Hulbert has compiled a 4-6 mark with a 4.38 ERA in 15 starts. |
