Iuliano Strokes 5 Hits Sunday, July 24th , 1955 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Girolamo Iuliano, it came around today. The 25-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over Oriole Park at Camden Yards to pace the 13-6 Sicily A Longhorns victory over the Paris A Orioles. Paris A skipper told reporters in the press room that "Iuliano deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Iuliano hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Girolamo Iuliano struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. In 1955 Iuliano has hit at a .324 clip with 66 hits, 5 home runs, 31 RBIs and has scored 28 times. |
