Hits Galore: Koch Drills 5 Hits Tuesday, July 26th , 1955 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Los Angeles A's 7-2 win over Paris A, center fielder Rap Koch was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Warlords Park. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Koch said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Rap Koch singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and doubled in the 7th. Posting a .287 batting average to date, Koch has 5 home runs and 23 RBIs. |
