Mobile A's Connor Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Thursday, July 30th , 1953 Today at San Jose AAA Stadium, the Mobile A Rivermen fell to the Lisbon A Spirit despite a splendid performance by left fielder Lawson Connor. Connor had an exceptional day at the plate, tagging Spirit pitching for 5 base hits, but it was not enough for Mobile A to come away with the win. Lisbon A whipped Mobile A by a score of 10-5. Lawson Connor singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jay Green in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season, Connor has hit 7 home runs and posted a .314 batting average. |
