Pitcher of the Year Award Presented by TCA Tuesday, August 16th , 1955 The Iceland A Valiants have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Hirose Inouye, this year's TOBA Class A Pitcher of the Year Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Inouye compiled a 9-6 record in 16 starts, tallied 106 strikeouts in 136.1 innings and recorded a 3.23 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .277 batting average against him. He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Josh Mickan of the Mobile A Rivermen finished second in voting, while Gerhard Alexander of the Sicily A Longhorns finished third.
