Wilson Shackles Iceland A Saturday, May 3rd , 1952 Dowd Wilson had an impressive outing at San Jose AAA Stadium, hurling the Lisbon A Spirit to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Iceland A Valiants. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Iceland A skipper said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On the day, the left-handed Wilson yielded 6 hits and tallied 9 strikeouts with 2 walks. |
