Alvarado Beguiles Iceland A
Thursday, May 8th , 1952
David Alvarado was in a mood to talk following the New York A Big Stick contest against the Iceland A Valiants, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Valiants, 12-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Alvarado said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Iceland A on a 4-hitter, allowing 3 walks and racking up 13 strikeouts.
