New York R Triumph Powered by Chauvin's 5 Hits Wednesday, August 6th , 1958 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Philippe Chauvin. Chauvin went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Los Angeles R pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Dallas R Fields, he had a 5-for-6 line and a day he will long remember. And the New York R Bucks had a win, 13-3, over the Lake Monsters. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Philippe Chauvin doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ha-joon Lee in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. Chauvin is batting .500 this season in 9 games with 3 home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 42 at-bats. |
