Robinson Stretches Hit String to 25 Saturday, July 30th , 1955 With 1 hit at Skeeters Grounds, Joe Robinson added another game to his hitting streak -- the Mobile R second baseman has now hit safely for 25 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Skeeters, as they fell, 5-4, to the Los Angeles R Lake Monsters. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Los Angeles R manager said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Joe Robinson flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year, Robinson is hitting at a .382 pace with 5 home runs and 17 RBIs. He has played in 27 games and scored 28 times. |
